Intent – what will I learn?
You will develop a knowledge & understanding, improved confidence and practical skills & techniques in lash perming and eyebrow lamination with shaping. Specifically you will:
- Understand the primacy of Safety and Sanitation: You will learn the importance of keeping a clean and safe workspace to prevent infections or allergic reactions.
- Develop your product Knowledge: Gain knowledge of the products and tools used in eyelash perming and eyebrow lamination, including their purpose and proper usage.
- Client Consultation: Develop the ability to assess client needs and preferences through effective consultation, considering factors like face shape and skin type.
- Eyelash and Eyebrow Anatomy: Understand the anatomy of eyelashes and eyebrows to better manipulate and style them.
- Perming Techniques: Learn the techniques for applying perming solutions to eyelashes and eyebrows, including curling, timing, and product application.
- Lamination Techniques: Master the art of eyebrow lamination, which involves straightening and setting eyebrow hairs in place.
- Aftercare and Maintenance: Educate clients on proper aftercare procedures and maintenance to ensure the longevity of the perm or lamination.
- Contraindications: Recognize situations where eyelash perming, or eyebrow lamination may not be suitable or safe for a client.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Develop problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise during the perming or lamination process.
- Practical Application: Gain hands-on experience by practising eyelash perming and eyebrow lamination techniques on models and peers to build ability and confidence.
- Use the Internet safely to search for information to absorb and expand knowledge about eyelashes.
Implementation – how will I learn?
Sessions will include a mix of tutor demonstration, classroom activities, Working on individual tasks with feedback from tutor and homework.
Most courses will have some online learning, so a laptop/tablet and internet access will be needed so you can access suitable images online. You can discuss this with your tutor and we may be able to help. Your full attendance in class will be required to help you to meet your learning targets.
How will I know I’m making progress?
You will have a Personal Learning Plan (PLP), which you will update regularly. Your tutor will also give you regular updates on your progress, both verbally and in writing.
Impact – what can I expect to achieve?
Please note that as an introductory programme, this course does not provide a Licence for you to practise professionally. However, you will receive a certificate of completion recording your achievements on this programme, better knowledge, skills, confidence, ideas to progress and above all an enjoyable experience!
