Whilst learning is clearly a big part of STEC, we are much more than just a Training Centre – we are a resource for individuals, for community groups and for business. This is exemplified by our managed office tenancy service that is both extremely competitive and highly popular with charities and small businesses alike. We are proud to be based in Speke Garston and to have made a contribution to the regeneration of South Liverpool during the past three decades.

Basir Community Champion from STEC ITV/Liverpool Echo
Just a note of appreciation and gratitude to some special people. There are many individuals and organisations contributing to the support of Bas during the last five years – obviously The Original Swap Shop Team (Angie, Pauline, Shantelle, Adele, Rachel etc) were a massive help, The Orchard (Tracey, Napper and Joanne) and STEC’s Driving Theory Course delivered by Paul was critical for Basir to become a driver in his career. However special thanks must also be dedicated to Carie Lee, Liverpool City Council’s Equalities & Cohesion Officer (and STEC Trustee), the team at SLH (especially Thomas Hayes, Joe Cummings and The Reach Team), Liverpool Adult Learning Service (especially Chris Davey, Lynne Davies and Dot Bonner), Riverside Floating Support Service (Jodie, Rosita), all the team at the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA), TLC’s “Give Get Go” Project and Lisa Colquhoun of Knowsley Works. This demonstrates how partnership can produce positive outcomes making a sustainable difference. Yes it is what STEC does but we can not do it by ourselves!
